5 Great Demko Knives
Designed by the great Andrew Demko and, in the case of folders, sporting some of the strongest knife locks ever designed (such as the Shark Lock and Tri-Ad Lock) Demko Knives exhibit some of the highest quality in the industry. Here are just a few of the more popular models from the Demko lineup.
- Demko FreeReign (Drop Point, Blue Polymer, AUS10A)
While many of the most popular Demko Knives are folders, the FreeReign, in this case the model with a drop point blade, a blue polymer handle and an AUS10A blade, is one of the brand’s most popular fixed blades.
Some things that are great about it: it offers the simplicity and reliability of a fixed blade with a practical and no-nonsense drop point design. The AUS10A steel will also offer excellent corrosion resistance and reasonable edge retention. It also has a comfortable, ergonomic and high-visibility handle.
- Demko AD20.5 (Clip Point, Blue G10, 20CV)
The Demko AD20.5, in this case the variant with a clip point blade, Blue G10 scales, and a 20CV blade, is another very popular Demko Knife.
The 20CV blade will offer excellent corrosion resistance and arguably even better edge retention than AUS10A, and like the former model, this one has high-visibility scales that help prevent the knife from being lost, should you put it down for a second.
- Demko AD20.5 (SharkFoot Digi Camo G10, 3V)
The Demko AD20.5 with a SharkFoot 3V blade and Digi Camo scales is another great model. The SharkFoot blade is great because it offers solid blade stock and an extremely strong tip, and the 3V steel cannot be bested for toughness. It’s probably the toughest steel alloy that’s readily commercially available in common knives.
- Demko Nano Shark (Black G10, 20CV)
Discretion is the key factor here that makes the Demko Nano Shark with Black G10 scales and a 20CV blade a winner.
A compact SharkFoot blade is extremely tough and reliable and will withstand tough use, the steel delivers great corrosion resistance and edge retention, and the G10 scales, though unassuming, are marvellously tough.
- Demko Armiger 2 (SharkFoot, Black Rubber, 4034SS)
If you’re looking for a small, discreet, tough, and budget friendly Demko Knife, it should come as no surprise that the Demko Armiger 2, specifically the version with a SharkFoot blade, a black rubber handle and a 4034SS blade, is one of the best options in the whole catalog.
The blade profile is elite for toughness, especially near the tip, and while the 4034SS is relatively soft compared to 20CV and 3V, you can’t beat it for corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening.
Plus, the price point is unbeatable. If you’re looking for an affordable Demko knife and are a fan of fixed blades, there’s hardly a better option than this.
