This creates a very "sticky" customer relationship and a predictable recurring revenue stream for the vendor. The bargaining power of suppliers is generally low. The primary inputs are software developers and cloud infrastructure, both of which are competitive markets. Finally, the threat of substitute products or services is low. For any organization with a field workforce of significant size, the primary substitute is a manual process using spreadsheets, email, and phone calls. The efficiency gains and improved customer satisfaction offered by a modern FSM platform provide a clear and compelling ROI against this highly inefficient substitute.
