In parallel, anti-soiling hydrophobic and photocatalytic glass coatings are emerging as a key preventative strategy. Applied during manufacturing or retrofitted in the field, these ultra-thin coatings prevent dust particles and organic contaminants from adhering strongly to the glass surface. Rainwater can then slide off easily, carrying surface dirt with it in a self-cleaning effect. Combined with sustainable washing practices, these material innovations are ensuring that solar power maintenance remains as green and environmentally responsible as the energy it produces.
