Looking forward, research into CRISPR-based diagnostic tools and next-generation sequencing (NGS) panels promises to refine respiratory testing even further. CRISPR-Cas enzyme assays enable ultra-fast, highly specific target recognition without complex thermal cycling equipment, opening doors for even lower-cost molecular testing. As these next-generation technologies mature and production costs decline, advanced molecular testing kits will become increasingly accessible to resource-limited healthcare facilities globally.
