Har Ki Dun Trek 2026: A Journey I Started With Doubts and Finished With a Smile

I was not completely sure about doing the Har Ki Dun trek when I first heard about it. I loved mountains, but I had never been confident about walking for several days with a backpack. Still, something about Har Ki Dun made me curious, so I decided to go. Our journey began from Sankri. The road to Sankri was already giving us beautiful mountain views, and by the time we arrived, everyone was excited. We spent the evening talking about the route and checking our Har Ki Dun trek itinerary. The next morning, the real adventure began. We started walking through a forest trail surrounded by tall trees. The air was cool, and the sound of the Supin River could be heard nearby. At first, I felt very energetic. I took photographs, talked with everyone and enjoyed every step. After a few hours, however, my legs started getting tired. The trail had ups and downs, and my backpack suddenly felt much heavier. I began wondering whether I had made the right decision. Then we stopped beside the river for a short break. I sat down, drank some water and looked at the mountains. The view was so beautiful that I forgot about my tiredness for a while. We continued walking and slowly reached the Himalayan villages along the route. Osla was one of the places that impressed me the most. Its traditional wooden houses and peaceful surroundings gave the village a special charm. We spent some time there, enjoying tea and talking with local people. It was amazing to see how different and simple life could be in the mountains. After leaving the village, the trail became quieter. We were now walking deeper into the valley, and the landscape seemed to become larger with every step. Our conversations became shorter because everyone was busy looking at the scenery. Finally, we reached Har Ki Dun. The moment I saw the valley, I completely forgot that I had been tired earlier. The huge mountains surrounding the valley looked incredible. The Swargarohini range stood in the distance, creating a view that I will never forget. We sat there for a long time. Nobody wanted to rush. I looked around and realised that the nervous person who had started the trek from Sankri was now sitting in the middle of the Himalayas, feeling proud and happy. The return journey was easier because I knew I had already done the hardest part. When we reached Sankri again, I felt a strange mixture of happiness and sadness. I was happy that I had completed the trek, but sad that the journey was over. Looking back, the difficult moments were actually some of the most valuable ones. They taught me to be patient and keep moving even when things became uncomfortable. The Har Ki Dun trek was not only a physical journey for me. It became a reminder that we often underestimate ourselves. Sometimes all we need is a little courage to take the first step. If you are planning to explore Har Ki Dun in 2026, don't worry too much about whether you are ready. Prepare well, take things slowly and enjoy the journey. The mountains have a way of making you stronger one step at a time.
