Matexcel has expanded its microfluidic chip solutions for analysis and detection applications, providing researchers with chip-based platforms for nucleic acid analysis, pathogen detection, drug screening, sensing, and microscale biochemical reactions.

The portfolio includes microfluidic PCR chips, pathogen detection chips, drug screening chips, sensor integration chips, and microreaction chips. The solutions are designed to integrate sample processing, reactions, and signal detection within compact microfluidic systems, supporting workflows that require efficient handling and rapid analysis.

Microfluidic PCR chips can support DNA, RNA, viral nucleic acid, and mutant gene analysis using detection approaches such as fluorescence-based PCR and digital PCR. Pathogen detection chips are available for bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic targets. For drug-related research, microfluidic screening chips can be used to assess parameters such as cell viability, enzyme activity, and protein expression.

Matexcel's sensor integration chips support the detection or monitoring of targets including glucose, hydrogen peroxide, ions, and pH through electrochemical or optical approaches. Microreaction chips provide a platform for small-scale biochemical and chemical reactions involving enzymes, metabolites, and synthetic intermediates.

The microfluidic portfolio also extends to organ-on-a-chip solutions, with offerings including Single-Organ-on-Chip, Multi-Organ-on-Chip, Organoid-on-a-Chip, and Organ-on-Chips for Disease Research. These platforms provide researchers with options for studying biological processes in controlled microfluidic environments and can support applications such as drug screening, disease research, and related in vitro studies.

“Microfluidic systems can bring sample processing, reaction, and detection into a more integrated workflow,” said Johnson, one of the representative speakers at Matexcel. “Our expanded portfolio gives researchers more options for developing chip-based analysis and detection systems according to their specific experimental requirements.”

Matexcel also supports customized microfluidic chip development. Depending on the application, functions such as filtration, enrichment, dilution, reaction, and signal detection can be incorporated into chip designs to accommodate different sample types and analytical workflows.
